Foundation First Aid

NZQA Level 2

This 1 day first aid course is ideal for anyone wanting to learn the basics of first aid.
This course includes all course content from the Provide Basic Life Support course and covers the
NZQA unit standards 6401 and 6402. This course has a further focus on providing first aid for traumatic
injuries (burns, fractures, dislocations, soft tissue injuries and poisoning) and medical emergencies
(heart attacks, diabetic emergency, asthma attack, seizure and stroke).

In addition, for ITS courses an awareness of Anaphylaxis is also taught on this course
• Eligible for NZQA unit standards 6401 and 6402.
• Meets WorkSafe NZ requirements for first aid training.
• It will give you a Foundation First Aid certificate that is valid for 2 years

NZQA unit 6402 v9 | 2 credits
People credited with this unit standard are able to: provide basic life support, manage a foreign body airway obstruction, manage first aid for life threatening bleeding, and provide first aid management for a person in shock.

Learn the different parts of the espresso setup (grinder, machine, dump box, water filter). You will also make different types of drinks: Short Black, Long Black, Flatwhite, Hot Chocolate, Cappuccino, Mochaccino and Latte. Discover all the ingredients you may need for these drinks including condiments.

First Aid Refresher

Face-to-face

6.5hrs

2hrs shorter than the Foundation First Aid course - First Aid Refresher is just that, a course to refresh
a learner’s knowledge. As such, there is no specific assessments. However, learners will be observed
completing some practical scenarios in CPR, choking, traumatic injuries and medical emergencies.
Learners are expected to fully participate in every aspect of the course. This can include practical
scenarios, group discussions or tabletop exercises.

• Meets WorkSafe NZ requirements for first aid training.
• It will give you a First Aid Refresher certificate that is valid for 2 years

NB:
Learners can only refresh their current First Aid Cert which has not expired for more than 3 months.
Please supply a copy of your current FIrst Aid Certificate when making your booking.
